Okay, 100 degrees F with humidity maybe it’s gorgeous, but it’s the first day all summer that’s been over 90 :D Yes, all summer! Which is perfect though, because Azura’s in Nova Scotia today (and yesterday and tomorrow) at her first sleepaway camp and the kids start their 5 weeks of day camp on Monday. So this weather is perfect for that, and we can actually USE the pool we’ve had set up for a month! Of course I am not a fan of extreme hot, so that has me a bit grouchy, but I’m glad it’s hot enough to do summer stuff and that the kids’ll get good use out of summer camp that isn’t rained out.

I still haven’t come up with what to do with Sophia from 9-5 M-F for 5 weeks. She really doesn’t like “playing” with me, and just wants the other kids around…so I haven’t come up with anything yet she’ll really get a kick out of while they’re busy. But I have some time.  It was a really surreal experience at the grocery store though today, buying all their lunch/snack items for camp. LOL I haven’t packed a lunch for Max EVER!!! So that was really weird and cool.

Oh and I finished Harry Potter…took a couple of hours (under three) on Saturday to read it…but I won’t spoil it for anyone :)

It’s been a weird, busy (but at the same time not) couple of weeks around here. We haven’t “done” anything, but we’ve been busy, if that makes any sense at all. The kids have been at the lake since last Sunday, so it’s just been Sophia and Andrew and I home all week. It’s amazing how much you can get done with only one little one in tow! We spent three of those days running errands. They’re coming back tomorrow, so the house’ll get noisy and crazy again, but it’s not the end of busy for us.

Azura got invited as a “deserving child” :D to go to a special sleep-away camp for the first time next week. She’s going with the boys and girls club group. I love the Boys and Girls club. It’s amazing how wonderful that organization is…make sure you support yours!

Also, all three older kids were given a “scholarship” of sorts to the B&G club summer day camp. They were going to only attend 1 week (since we could only afford one week…it was $105/wk per kid, YIKES!) but Andrew’s been off work since the middle of last month and we just can’t swing it. The grands are giving them the gift of that week, and then the B&G club is giving them the remainder of the summer (so 5 weeks) FREE. So they actually get to go to the full August day camp, and it’s something I could never do for them and it’s such a great opportunity for them :) Of course it’s clear across town so I get to play taxi all summer :D But, it’s a small price to pay for the opportunity, no? They’re excited beyond belief, and I’m feeling very blessed.

So, since I’ll have 6 weeks with only one kid home during the day, maybe I’ll find time to post more….probably not..LOL but I can hope, right?
