I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything, but I haven’t felt much like posting lately. NOT for any bad reason, but just because. But, as it’s New Year’s Eve and 2008 is less than 24 hours away I thought I’d post :) This year has actually  been one of our better years. The kids were happy and healthy (for the most part), no major sickness-es (other than Andrew) and especially once April hit, we all stayed healthy. We had a wonderful and busy summer, a really fun fall, and winter’s been alright too. Christmas was a blast! I turned 33 yesterday and though my birthday sucked, I like being 33 (actually am totally LOVING my 30’s). Andrew started a new job in November, one that should always have work for him, and with very good pay AND he gets to still work from home which is such an amazing luxury and one I’m very thankful for. We’re surely not the traditional family, but it’s us, and a lifestyle we actively pursue (mom and dad and kids home together).

The learning experiences this year were second to none. I can’t even think of just a couple examples to share because it happens all the time every day and it’s just part of our lives. All four kids’ knowledge and passions exploded this year and we had some huge growth in many areas, not just physical. With cross-Canada trips, summer camps, travel, relaxation and much more…we never stopped.

We have family and friends who love us, a happy home, a steady (good) income and the best news of all: we’re adding a new member to the family in June. That’s one reason I haven’t been posting…I’ve felt lousy the last 16 weeks and have had some icky sciatic/hip stuff going on. But on Christmas Day we told the kids about the fact we’re having a baby brother or sister for them in June, and they were thrilled. In fact, considering this is #5 for us, no one’s been upset or freaked out by the news. Shocked, yes, but it’s really short lived and the thrilled comes really fast on the heels of shocked. I couldn’t be happier (even with the 12 weeks of m/s, the insane hip/leg pain, the insomnia) but I’d love to be over with this part and meet our newest little family member.

2008 looks to be our best year yet. Andrew and I will celebrate 15 years together in May; 10 years married in September. We WERE going to go to Cuba for our first (and only) vacation/honeymoon/whatnot, but with a new baby at home, we’ll just wait for 20 years since that’s only 5 years away. Azura will be 13 in May and we’ll have a new baby in June. Azura and Brandon might be taking a trip to and from BC in the spring. Andrew’s job is looking to be “the” job and we’ll be able to actually put money in the bank come spring. Max and Sophia are slowly starting to get along better (which is huge) and both of them are such awesome kids with so much they want to do. We’re having the winter of the kids’ dreams as we’ve had a total of 3-4 feet of snow fall since November (though some melted, but we’re around 2 feet now and it’s snowing today) and they’ve spent every single day outside. It makes up for the hiding we do when it’s hot out. We’ve really started to hit our stride (though there’s some bad, sad or down times) and it’s looking like 2008 will be a great year.

So, Happy New Year’s Eve, and wishing everyone a WONDERFUL and amazing and the BEST 2008!!!
