Clara’s castle room definitely needed it’s own en suite bathroom. My old house had ONE bathroom for the four of us and when we were building, I wanted everyone to have their own space (and stay out of mine!) And what better Disney character for a castle bathroom than Ariel? I wanted to incorporate some “under the sea” type objects to give it that shipwreck treasure feeling. A seashell wreath, a strand of pearls and a giant starfish all give it that maritime feeling I wanted. To be honest, when I look at these photos, I feel like it is really missing a dinglehopper and a snarfblatt, so I definitely will be adding those ASAP.
Clara’s bathroom is actually a Jack-n-Jill bathroom that connects to our guest bedroom. Hopefully, any one who stays with us can appreciate the castle-like atmosphere. When we were building, I chose cream cabinets and a cream marble counter top for the finishes, but added Swarovski drawer pulls and had the standard construction mirror framed to look custom. I also chose the light fixture because I felt like it echoed what was happening with Clara’s coach bed.
It look me a really long time to find the “right” artwork for the bathroom. I loved that these drawings weren’t exactly “princess”, but felt like they fit and were definitely perfect for a little girl’s space.
Carrying through the theme of the princess sidekicks into the bathroom, Flounder and Sebastian stand guard. Can we please take a moment to recognize that I actually rhinestoned the bubbles? I felt like it gave it a little something extra. And the Dance Mom thing is hard to shake.
A close up of the Ariel shelf. The Ariel statue is a souvenir from a Disney cruise we took to see our family friend, Brittany Pent, when she was performer. (Britt, NO ONE has ever killed the role of Cruella DeVille quite like you!!) It is a replica of the statue that stands in the foyer of the Disney Wonder and a perfect addition to the bathroom.
This antique clock feels very Cinderella-esque. The shower curtain was custom made from a gold-threaded embroidered fabric and the little bows are the perfect finishing touch.
I love sharing our home with you and can’t wait to show you the next room. One of the biggest compliments I have read after sharing Clara’s bedroom were the little ideas that you wanted to steal and use in your rooms. If you do ,PLEASE tag me in the photos because I can’t wait to see!! As always, thank you for reading and sharing!
