20 Things I Would Actually Buy From the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

FILED IN: Pretty For Real

Anyone else sick of seeing the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in their feed? How many try-on hauls does one have to endure? Just why is everyone online SO obsessed with this sale?

Here’s the tea: Influencers make money from affiliate links and the Nordstrom sale is a potentially huge revenue-generating opportunity for them. If they plan accordingly and show you as many pieces as possible, chances are, there will be something you like and when you click on their links and buy, they get a commission. And these can add up fast. Not surprising that so many people want to share their “finds”, right? And to be totally transparent, if you click through one of my links, I’m earning a small commission from the store, too. Just don’t want to be shady, ya know?

But here’s the problem, this particular sale gives me, the self-proclaimed professional shopper, the woman who finds her inner Zen in a mall, SO MUCH ANXIETY. It’s just so overwhelming to see 56 white t-shirts to choose from and not know which is the BEST. And then I start to watch every blogger post about how many ways there are to “STYLE THIS CARDI” and my FOMO reaches a new level. I sweat, I panic, I buy things that I will donate in 6 months with TAGS STILL ATTACHED. It’s all muy traumatic. So, in an effort to exorcise my shopping demons, I have limited myself to only buying things that I have used/worn/tried in the past and I know I love. No more adding things to my cart and pressing the “Complete Order” button after two glasses of pinot. It’s better this way.

So, what did I buy? Here’s the rundown of the things I would recommend to my bestie, bought for myself or Chloe insisted that she “needed.”

This Barefoot Dreams cardi has been a staple in my winter wardrobe for years. I have it black and gray and I'm grateful that I have two because one is usually in Chloe's room. Wear it over pajamas for an extra snuggly layer during those coldest winter months.

Do you want an at-home spa experience anytime the urge strikes? Then this Dr. Dennis Gross steamer is calling your name. We use ours often in my house and it leaves us dewy and hydrated. (There may or may not have been a few times when Chloe, Clara and I argue over who get to use it first. Guess who usually wins? The Boss, Clara.) BONUS, this set includes a 14-day supply of Dr. Dennis Gross Alpa Beta Daily Peel, which is one of my secret weapons. The results are AMAZING. The steamer price alone makes this a steal, but adding in the peel make this one a no-brainer.

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk lipstick has a cult following and this kit gives you the whole shebang. It's a great warm nude that works on lots of skin tones and Chloe and I both are big fans.

Soft pajamas are my jam and I have both of these sets in several colors. I wear the long-sleeved, pants version most of the year and the short set is a fav of my teen roommate. SO. VERY. SOFT.

I am SOOOOO very picky about the lotions that I use: light fragrance, rubs in completely, no “greasy” feeling. This lotion checks all the boxes and the large size and included pump made this a steal. It's great for hydrating your sun-kissed skin after a pool day, but also helps combat the Hell that is dry, winter skin.

This was the first thing I added to my cart when the presale opened. I have another Barefoot Dreams blanket that Chloe is obsessed with and she wanted her own for college, so this marled pink one was perfect. These blankets are unbelievably soft and cuddly and we use mine every day. They are worth every penny and this one is under $100!

If you have been looking for a chance to try La Mer, here it is. The soft cream is one of my favorite beauty staples, but the lotion is the real hero of this kit. It has a reputation as a miracle worker on scars and I'm here to tell you that it's ALLLLLL true. I had a chickenpox scar from childhood and nothing helped. Guess what did? Yep, the lotion. It's liquid gold.

This TopShop set was one of the only things I bought from the sale that I did not previously own. I thought It was adorable and it's so soft and perfect for a cute college freshman to wear in her dorm during long study hours. 🙂 The top and bottom are sold separately.

Obviously, I have a thing for Barefoot Dreams since these socks are my third BD recommendation. Soft, warm, cuddly. I put a pair in my carryon so I can slip them on to keep my feet extra warm on long flights.

Nars lip pencils have been in my makeup bag since the early days of Dance Moms and this set includes a great selection of nudes and neutrals.

I get asked about my skincare routine all the time and this is one of my favorite secret weapons.  The Dr. Dennis Gross Face Peels are AMAZING. I noticed an instant improvement in my skin after about two uses and it just keeps getting better. Try them and you can thank me later.

I was actually “influenced” by another influencer to try these faux leather leggings and she was dead on. Because they are SPANX, they suck you in and lift in all the right places. So good. And perfect to throw on with an oversized shirt when you have to make an appearance in public and pajamas won't cut it.

My girls are OBSESSED with Hydro Flasks and I haven't found one this inexpensive anywhere else. If you haven't tried a Hydro Flask yet, they really do live up to the hype: liquids stay cold and they are vacuum spilled so no leaks or spills. and the straw lids are a must-have in our house.

I think every mom needs a cute crossbody that actually fits the essentials and this Tory Burch bag is perfect. I love the blush pink for summer, but they have lots of color choices. The price is great and it's gonna go fast. If you like it, don't wait and live with regret.

I learned about Mario Bedesco from the Dance Moms girls and I have to say, they have great taste. The facial spray smells divine and leaves your skin feeling a little tingly (in a good way) and the lip balm is super moisturizing. I tend to use mine more in the summer months and leave my heavy hitters for winter. To be honest, I haven't tried the drying lotion but I will and report back!

If you are looking for the perfect pair of jeans to splurge on, look no further. Not only do they look fantastic on different body types, but they are also comfortable. Like, REALLY comfortable and I find myself reaching for them over and over. Try a pair, I promise you will not be disappointed.

Did you know that Clara has vitiligo? We have to be soooo careful with her in the sun and Supergoop sunscreen is one of my absolute faves. It has less alcohol than regular sunscreen, lasts 80-minutes and can be applied to wet skin, which every mother knows is a gamechanger because once the kids hit the pool, it is almost impossible to get them dry again.

Candle lovers, unite! It is almost impossible to get Diptyque candles on sale and here's a chance to own the creme de la creme at a cheaper price. And I love that this sampler pack includes some of the heavy hitters (Baies!)

If your feet ache at the end of of a day, treat yourself to a pair of UGG slippers. These are the perfect mules to slip into and they will keep your feet perfectly toasty at a price you can't beat.

Also, don't forget to use Ebates when you shop the sale for even more savings. If you are new to Ebates and need a quick crash course, check out my blog post here.

Enjoy the sale, don't get too stressed about FOMO and let me know in the comments below what I missed that you are dying over. As always, thanks for commenting and sharing!

XO, Christi
